Federal money, state doors

The federal 25C and 25D tax credits ended December 31, 2025. Federal support now flows through two programs each state runs itself: HEAR (Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates — up to $8,000 for a heat pump, income-qualified) and HOMES (whole-home efficiency rebates based on measured savings). Amounts, eligibility and timing in Connecticut are set by the state's energy office.
